Northern Winds Pickups is a small independent workshop based in Alberta, Canada, dedicated to building handwound electric guitar pickups for musicians and enthusiasts.
Each pickup is built one at a time for players who want dynamic, expressive tone with vintage-inspired character and modern clarity. Our designs are based on classic pickup recipes and use AlNiCo magnets with period-correct magnet wire.
All pickups are scatter-wound individually, then assembled and tested by hand to ensure consistency and reliability.
We offer humbuckers, Stratocaster-style pickups, and Telecaster-style pickups, along with custom winding options for players seeking specific output or tonal response.
